Joshua Hall, Owner of Swift Chimney Service, Inc.

Joshua Hall has been involved in construction ever since he was old enough to push a broom around his father's worksites. Joshua's father, a preacher, worked as a carpenter during the week to subsidize the meager salary he received from the church. Joshua learned many carpentry skills from his father and utilized those skills when he became a job foreman for a Baltimore-based construction contractor in 1999. In the beginning of 2001, Joshua swept his first chimney and has been expanding his knowledge of the industry ever since. He is trained and qualified to perform masonry repairs, stove and fireplace installation and upgrades, and chimney liner installations. Joshua is certified by the Chimney Safety Institute of America and has received repair training and certification from the world's leading pellet stove manufacturer, Whitfield®, by Lennox Hearth Products. Before the incorporation of Swift Chimney Service, Joshua was the operations manager of a large chimney service company in the Baltimore-Washington, DC area. In early 2005, Joshua and Nathan joined forces and incorporated Swift Chimney Service.

When not on the rooftops or working in the office, you might find Joshua jumping out of airplanes at Skydive Orange in central Virginia or backpacking through Pennsylvania and Western Maryland with his fiancé, Aubrey, and their dog, Mr. Bo Jangles. During the slow season Joshua and Aubrey enjoy traveling. This summer they are visiting Guatemala and southern Mexico to explore Mayan ruins and perform volunteer work to help the oppressed peoples of the area. In the evenings after a hard day's work of keeping Baltimore's chimneys safe, he is enrolled at the local community college taking courses to further the business and enrich his personal life.

Nathan and Joshua are both certified by the Chimney Safety Institute of America. They are tested on standards established by the National Fire Protection Association, local building codes and all facets of chimney cleaning.

Dear Swift Chimney Guys (Nathan and Josh),
I am writing this letter as a testament to the great service we received from Swift Chimney Service. We bought our home knowing the chimney needed some work and due to the high price of home repairs we foolishly put off this task until pretty close to the last minute. I called several well known chimney companies and was met with the same response from all- a very high quote and a very long wait. As a last resort I 'googled' chimney sweeps and that is where I found Swift, and I am so glad I did.'

Nathan and Josh said they could come the next day to sweep the chimney in addition to giving us a quote on the repairs needed. Not only did they do a quick and efficient job, but they were neat as well! They gave us an estimate for the work needed with a very reasonable price and I was even more pleased that they could start that very week. That they did, working through rain and cold weather and the end result was fantastic! Our chimney looks great, well beyond what I could have imagined (we've had several compliments). In addition to being nice guys, their craftsmanship and professionalism were very impressive to both me and my husband (a compliment in itself, to be able to please both of us!).
